Dear editor
I read with interest your article “The unsustainable truth about Biomass?” but would really like to know more about this issue to help dispel the myths and get to the truth of Biomass energy production and the alternatives. Why does the government provide such large grants to this form of energy production? Was it just a quick way to reduce the UK’s carbon footprint? Or was it commercial interests that lobbied for this at the expense of other more carbon neutral energy sources?
It seems insane to me to be shipping the fuel across the Atlantic rather than producing it locally. Are there plans to make Biomass more sustainable?
Finally what are the pros and cons of the alternatives to Biomass energy production.
Keep up the good work bringing us articles like this that help us all be more informed about these complex issues.
Regards
James Snelson
