After a period of military service John spent some years in manufacturing, factory work etc. Eventually he settled on catering and had a brief period in Catering College. He has since worked in nursing homes, rehab and the Probation Service. On moving to Newcastle with his family John spent the last five years of his working life in school catering, he is now retired. John likes Rugby Union, Football and Cricket and is an inveterate reader both fiction and non-fiction, John says he cannot, literally, remember not having a book on the go
