Mark Corner is from the UK, lives in Brussels, and has taught at universities in Newcastle upon Tyne, Prague and Leuven in Belgium. While in Newcastle he also spent four years as a Labour councillor. He is married to a Czech official at the European Commission and they have two sons. He spent ten years as part of a team of freelance speakers introducing aspects of the European Commission to groups of visitors ranging from students to diplomats, often from the UK. He has written several books. The next one, Will Robots Take our Jobs? and other questions in economics will be published by Owl Press in February 2026.
