North Shields Indie Rock band Hector Gannet headed over to Texas this week with a full schedule of shows in Houston, San Antonio and Austin where the annual South by South West festival (SXSW) is taking place.

The band headed out to the USA on Monday 13 March to play shows promoting their latest album The Land Belongs To Us, but when they landed in Austin via American Airlines, there was no sign of their guitars, which are worth thousands of pounds. Their USA promoter Jeff Smith has been earnestly searching for suitable replacements so the band can play their scheduled shows over there.

Hector Gannet have seen their profile take off after they toured with Sam Fender and Sea Power in recent years. This is their second trip to the US in 12 months, but this current situation could put their tour under threat, as their work permits expire very soon.

American Airlines have informed Hector Gannet that they are currently unaware of the location of the lost equipment, which is further disconcerting for the band.

Hector Gannet return to UK 22 March to prepare for a run of shows and festival appearances, so unless the items are found, this could turn out to have an extended impact on their summer schedule.
