The North East’s biggest three-day festival has added a staggering 50 more acts to its line-up, making it one of the most exciting music events in the region this year. Hardwick Festival – which this year has been extended and will run from Friday 18 August to Sunday 20 August –  has unveiled the latest big names who will appear across the weekend.

Performers at Hardwick Festival

They include singer songwriter, Freya Riding -who rose to prominence with her hit, Lost Without You,- who will appear on the main stage on Saturday, alongside headliners The Vaccines and The Kooks.

Organisers have also revealed that award winners Scouting for Girls will take to the Treehouse Arena Stage that same night, performing some of their hits such as She’s So Lovely and Heartbeat, which have helped the band sell more than two million records.

Their performance will be the climax of a packed day which will also see sessions by From The Jam, led by original Jam member, Bruce Foxton.

The Treehouse Arena has an equally strong line up for Sunday 20 August, headlined by Chicago-based Ten City who will be flying in especially for their performance.

Emerging in the 1980s, the band has had a string of hits including Right Back At You and That’s The Way Love Is.

DJ line-up for Hardwick Festival

The DJ line-up across the weekend will also see some of the biggest names in the industry head to Hardwick, with more than 20 UK and international performers appearing.

On the first day the line-up includes New York-based DJ and house music legend, Dennis Ferrer who also founded cutting edge record label ~Objektivity, along with Sorley, Loeca and DJ Pippi.

On Sunday 20 August Sam Divine, who has performed across Europe and the USA, as well as Low Steppa and electronic house favourite and BBC rising star, Arielle Free.

These new names are added to a constantly growing list of acts which will appear across Hardwick Festival, which this year has been extended and will now launch on 18 August with Hacienda Classical curated by Graeme Park and the Manchester Camerata Orchestra, as well as the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club.

The Friday evening will also see performances in the Treehouse Arena by Smoove and Turrell and DJ Luke Una, one half of the legendary Unabombers DJ duo.
