Glory the Soldier who does what he’s told,
The Few, and the Proud, the Brave, and the Bold,
Who flawlessly serve their country with pride,
Who take up their oaths, and then cast them aside,
Glory the Voter who just wanted peace,
An acre, an egg, a dime, and their piece,
And maybe a Goat to skin on the news,
A Target to target, a Beggar to bruise,
Glory their Gospels that play once a week,
That echo off walls with prayers for the meek,
Who’s justice and grace for all, unreserved,
Stop dead at the door when the coffee is served,
Glory Investors that know when to buy,
Who jump on the Bear, and ride the Bull high,
Watching from cushions, and biding their climb,
The Ones who know dollars get better with time,
Glory Celebrities fleeing their nest,
The Rich, and the Brave, society’s best,
Whose time isn’t right to get THAT involved,
A quick trip to Bali, and all will be solved,
Glory the Anchors smiling through lines,
Who clock in-and-out, ignoring the signs,
The Ones who know how to put on a show,
To stay in the pocket, and not in the know,
Glory the Liars who parrot for fame,
They might not agree, but, that’s not the same,
The One's who stay hidden, square in plain view,
Because, after all, they’ve got families too,
Glory the Statesmen who uses their words,
Against the Liars with cannons and swords,
Glory their craft! Their diction selection,
Surely that wit will secure reelection,
Glory the Judges who gaveled too late,
Who stepped into line, and not up to plate,
Who knew in their hearts the time wasn’t right,
That no way in hell it could happen tonight,
Glory the Citizen, doing their best,
On weekends at least, we all need our rest,
The Ones who know it was never that deep,
Because freedom is free, and talking is cheap,
So, glory the Soldiers who do what they’re told!
Whose ‘NeVEr aGaINs’ will never grew old,
Whose banner flaps white, with no red or blue,
There could be no Kings without Cowards like You.
