Suffer little children
to come from the land
where brutal untouchables
hold the law in their hand.

Suffer little children
to be born into a world
that turns its back on them
as bullets take mummies
and daddies are hurled
into shallow unloved
holes in the ground.

Suffer little children
who know of no God
that could ever protect them
from the dogs of slaughter
waging bloody war
on soft new gossamer skin.

Suffer little children
suffer us all
sitting silent and speechless,
refusing to call
genocide what it so plainly is.
