I trickled down to the shop
but the shop was shut
with a whitewashed window
saying "We've gone kaput!"
So I trickled down into town to stroll around the streets but I kept tripping over people begging at my feet.
So I trickled back home, frozen to the core and shook hands with the bailiffs waiting at my door.
They looked a little flustered, I don't know how long they'd lurked but they muttered an apology about being overworked.
And now the rain is trickling down and there's talk of coming frost. I voted for my freedom and now I can't afford the cost. Harry Gallagher
