We've never had it so good.
Good as olde England
hanging grimly on to her war cries,
good as an empire
flashing her loose skinned thighs,
her bloomers strewn
upon an ashtray floor
while the tone-deaf snowblind
holler for more.
We've never had it so good. Headboys on the take, headlines blythe and bonny, cupboard bare as birthday suits, credit up the Swannee. Good as soft promises to be good boys next time while the broken and the broke hang rotting on the vine.
We've never had it so good, there's no such thing as war and any foreign skirmishes don't knock on our front door. Just keep focused on the boats, arm yourselves with rocks and wood and if in doubt remember we've never had it so good.
