 DIS …TRAC…TION
 Mind frays, unravels,
 teeters on the brink
 of a dark abyss.

 A voice whispers
 deep within,
 struggles to be heard
 Go for a walk
 PING!
 the sun is shining
 PING! PING!
 birds are singing
 PING! PING! PING!
 Spring is waiting.
 The meadow is waiting.

 I step outside,
 blink in the light.
 Woodpecker
 hammers on
 some tree
 close by.
 Butterfly – Peacock –
 alights on path.
 Bumblebee
 fumbles blackthorn;
 petals, creamy
 froth of lace.
 Taste of almonds.

 The meadow
 stretches vast
 before me.
 No human
 to be seen.
 Lying down,
 basking in warmth,
 I smile, inhaling
 the sweet tenderness
 of Spring … grasses,
 cowslips poking through.
 On my back,
 gazing upwards,
 sun and moon
 hang in azure
 sky; white clouds
 sailing by.

 Skylarks sing,
 hidden in tufted
 ground.
 One rises, soars;
 sweet trilling
 thrills my ears
 fills my being.
 Connected.
 Fully present,
 At one with all.
