Here's to some grammar
in a glamour-bent world,
here's to the learners
before top-end earners.
To those who keep us right, safe between the commas, give me scientists and experts over flighty prima donnas.
There are no cancer cures to be found in screechy soaps; laboratories before oratories by made-up dullard dopes.
Give me hospital wings, actual useful things: doctors, professors before pink over-dressers.
A drink to all those who know when to close a poem veering off into a strop. Here's to a full stop. Harry Gallagher
