Dear EFRA COMMITTEE, MMO, local MPs, councillors and interested parties.
MMO (Marine Management Organisation),
Please log the ecosystem rock pool make up life change, with the many other die-offs that you haven’t given me feedback on, since the freeport dredge started in 1 September 2021, and the 145.000 tonnes of capital dredge from the toxic Seaton Channel, that you have allowed to be removed, irrespective of its chemical makeup, and dumped six miles out, in the last two weeks.
I eagerly await the MMO answers, please copy the EFRA committee in, and the feedback as to why these creatures are all that’s left in the ponds.
Dear EFRA committee,
Scientific experts
The truly, independent scientist Gary Caldwell stated… that the marine ecosystem may never fully recover, never mind to what it was, that other marine creatures will take over… and then take into account the many emails of evidence that I have sent you, showing the massive population explosions of creatures that have taken over, and are feeding on the dead life on the seafloor, the scavengers of death, including hagfish, black brittlestars, brittlestars, tiny whelks, slugs, urchins, starfish, many still ultimately washing up on mass die- offs in calm weather, not storms… and see the attached footage.
Gary was totally correct in this prediction, as well as the proof of the effect of pyridine on marine life and the potential spread, and expert Tim Deere Jones reports on pyridine and potential supplies to the environment, are spot on to what’s happened in real life. True scientific experts at their best!
We have never seen these things before the die-offs, then I sent you photos last summer, pots and beaches full of them.
Not a sign of normal life
Have you ever been down the beach, in the rock pools, looking for small crabs, polymogs, bullheads, blennies, small hermit crabs in winkle shells, or taken your bairns to do it?
Well, in the die-off zone, this is what you’ll find now! Paul Widdowfield and I, on the rocks at the Hartlepool Headland Monday, (where the mayor painted a rosy picture on social media, using the council leader’s photos of bladderack, that all was fine) while we were taking the dead kelp photos.
Not a sign of normal life, in the pools, no fish, no crabs, nothing at all, never mind normal, for the bairns to get excited about catching, dead stalks and – a bloody horror show, one that would have the kids running a mile.
The die-off population explosion, has wiped the lot out, apart from some type of horrible large sea slug animals, when you turn a rock, injure one and it’s like you’ve let purple dye off in the ponds. Look at the amount under one rock
Unlike the government untouchable agencies, if I’m wrong on the die-offs, I would have been the first to hold my hand up, but they’d rather kill the North Sea ecosystem than do that.
Killing the ecosystem and lying to the electorate
The North East Fishing Collective fights to save our North Sea and jobs, both sea and land, and won’t stop until hopefully, a public inquiry and or, judicial review is reached, and those found guilty of the shortfalls of environmental protection, and dredging laws, of cutting corners and cover ups, guilty of blatantly and knowingly killing the marine ecosystem, are exposed, are brought to justice, and the ecosystem is then put on a path to some type of hopeful repair, with the fishing industry and coastal community compensation paid.
The social media attacks against us continue; today, we couldn’t care less about politics, the time of reckoning is upon us, the capital dredger due tomorrow morning, Houchen’s starting gun, fresh from the independent panel shooting themselves in the foot, with a report straight off the fiction shelf in the library, now fully reloaded, ready to start the sprint to kill the remainder of the local North Sea.
The North East red wall voters, lent the Tories their votes, to give them a chance to show they could deliver Brexit; I was fooled into it, for the first time…
Growing up in the fishing community
Going to sea as a nipper, trawlers, sea netters, potting and salmon boats. When I got my first boat, off my mam and dad, for my birthday at 13, a 19ft double ended salmon coble, with not just oars, but a 5hp seagull outboard engine, that was safely kept in the engine pumphouse of the lock gates of the docks, my dad a lock gateman until he retired.
In the early 70s living on the seafront, watching the nonstop parade of fishermen, including my brothers, both fishing at some stage of their lives, walking past our front window, to go down the quay for a day at sea, the quay market bell ringing throughout the Headland air, for the start of the market at 8am, a huge market hall and fishquay, full of merchants, eager to bid and snap up the boats’ landings, now all, a distant memory, only one merchant, no market hall, 8am silence in the air, a few surviving trawlers, also struggling in the die-off zone, and half the potting boats lost in Hartlepool since the orca dredge began, forced out, sold or for sale.

The reality now
Now, the reality that the 1.7m tonnes Capital Dredge, starting next week, to be dumped on the 6-mile dumps, will easily leave the fishing industry, as well as the ecosystem, extinct.
The dredger arriving tomorrow, government and agencies’ heads should hang in shame!
I’m a single-handed, small-scale fisherman, been commercial fishing in my own boats for 49 years, part time, to last a few years solely fishing for a job, I’m not remotely the best person to speak up, on fishing, but I am capable person to speak up for protection of our local waters, on the enjoyment from fishing that I have loved all of my life, of the comradeship of industry lads and lasses, of my love of the coastal area, and community that I am a part of, and 48 years membership of Hartlepool Boatmen’s Association, all with a very understanding wife, who wonders what time I’ll turn up back home. Lynn, and daughter, Sarah, who has come to sea for runs out, throughout her life, on days out with her dad, from around age two, is a better fisherwoman with the rods, than her dad is as a fisherman with them!
Now, the proud solidarity of the fishing industry and ecosystem protecting public, the solid group of men and women who are the North East Fishing Collective, with growing public backing and support, and anger at the government led agencies, on the die-off issue.
The government and agencies have shot themselves in the foot, with a shot from the waist- excuse for the die offs, this time, they haven’t had the sense to think the fairytale through, or of the damaging consequences of another theoretical cover up!
A terrifying worldwide fantasy
Worldwide consequences of fantasy causes, that much so, there’s a Dutch, FT journalist, coming to interview Paul and me, in the morning, about the effect of the freeport on the fishing industry, and North Sea, what am I to tell him – only that your independent report has uncovered scientific fumble, of a possible new parasite that could potentially wipe the global marine ecosystem out, if any shipping in the die-off zone, gets affected, and spreads it?
A sci-fi novel of such frightening extent, that Nigel Knealle, probably would have wished he’d thought of the idea, before writing Quatermass and the Pit, as it’s much a more terrifying fantasy!
If there was anything more unbelievable than the algae theory cover up, it’s this astonishing new invisible, undetectable, unseen, unprovable unknown, possible theory of a multi lifeform munching parasite, that doesn’t exist, but in science fiction, everything is possible.
Spout Government Agency bull****, enough, and someone might just believe them, it doesn’t work with the North East people, who have always been the poor relations of the UK family.
The independent report has done us a real favour, the public seeing straight through the lack of commitment to reach the truth, the ammunition of the ecosystem gun, well and truly reloaded!
Not only a lowlife parasite but a lowlife excuse
The latest independent report writes not just of a lowlife parasite but more a lowlife excuse, to try and take the pressure away from the fact that dredging of the most toxic river sediment in the country, from the cesspit of the industrial revolution dump, the River Tees, the government and agencies denying that it’s sediment poison cocktail that is being dredged up from the bowels of toxic sediment hell, that is then being dumped into the North Sea, three miles and six miles offshore, will cause any harm, never mind much worse further ecosystem harm and die offs, coastal damage and industry damage, over a much bigger area, as now, namely – the world!
All to stop the levelling up, runaway train of ecosystem disaster, poison dredging, holding up the government’s toxic flagship freeport, from being delayed, until sediment is truly independently tested and if proven that it is too toxic to be dumped in the North Sea, but that would mean the cheapest, quickest option, to deal with it, off the table, and the political activist blaming overlord, not able to finish a ten year project in three years.
This is what happens when you let a new parasite run free, provide a never-ending pot of taxpayers’ money, with a levelling up agenda that will not level up, but tip the balance of the North Sea ecosystem and fishing industry jobs, coastal communities, safety, tourism, and beach users into decline and extinction!
If the freeport was planned properly, corners not cut on environmental protection, sea jobs and shore jobs not sacrificed for a crusade to membership of the Lords, at any cost, by the anti-ecosystem protection mentality of freeport jobs at any cost, it could have been so different.
Then levelling up would not have meant covering up, and the hard working fishermen and women of the North East and North Yorkshire Coast, along with the hardworking, proud people of the area, the public, and the North East Fishing Collective members, crew, families, their commissioned independent scientists and the group’s generous financial supporters, raising money for independent testing, (that should have been commissioned and paid for, by the government agencies), all to take the power crazed freeport ruler on, would not have been subject to daily boring untruthful political attacks, untruly claiming we’re all a bunch of crazy Labour and green activists, by the biggest political nasty activist of them all, the Dark Lord to be.
Politics, nor political lies and politically incorrect attacks, should be part of the price of protecting the ecosystem from marine genocide. The North East folk, won’t accept fools easily.
I do hope the genuine MPs and councillors, from all parties, who have shown and raised their true concern for the die-off issue, and who really represent the people who have put their faith in them at the ballot box to make the right decisions, don’t suffer at the next election, because of the actions of the freeport caped crusader, riding not just shotgun, but has the highly politically attacking reins in his hands, while the marine ecosystem and fisheries and shore jobs, industry wheels start to fall off the stagecoach.
There are too many good people who care, among them, and one rotten egg, should not detract from that, but it will, the seriousness of North Sea eco preservation is paramount.
We don’t want to end up the marine Chernobyl of the UK, but with the new report, we will be the new parasite of the world!
From the heart,
Stan
