The Prime Minister’s recent speech on immigration was one that Enoch Powell or Nigel Farage would be proud to have made. No ‘dog whistle’ for Keir Starmer, his message was a full throated bugle call to warn the British public that we need to get rid of these foreigners before they take over.
Apparently it is just a matter of time before the UK is unrecognisable, you won’t hear the English language on our High Streets soon.
We definitely don’t need those horrible migrants coming over here taking the jobs that we don’t want to do.
Social care
Social care is in a terrible state at the moment it is hard enough getting Brits to work in care homes for minimum wage and terrible hours. The last thing we need to do is make it even harder to get people to work in the sector.
Red meat to racists
This denigrating of migrants, whether economic or asylum seeker, is throwing red meat to the bigots and racists, in my view.
It is also unlikely to win Reform voters over because barring building a wall in the North Sea and having gun emplacements, it will never be enough.
Surely the PM knows this?
Why?
So, if he knows this, why is he taking his party in this direction?
Your guess is as good as mine.
I really don’t understand it. It seems we now have three parties all vying for the far right vote.
How many traditional Labour voters is Starmer prepared to lose chasing the xenophobes, bigots and racists?
Starmer has chucked a huge majority in the bin. Instead of doing the right thing for the country he is just carrying on where the Tories left off. New government…same as the old government.
If they carry on like this, the Labour Party will be in the same position as the Conservatives found themselves in last July.
