Will Starmer become a Labour Prime Minister anytime soon? He certainly isn’t one at the moment. Labour backbenchers, councillors, members, pollsters have all been telling him and his cabinet that the Labour Party is going in the wrong direction. And the recent local elections and the by- election in Runcorn provided ample evidence that the public believe this also.
Labour activists report that the removal of Winter Fuel Payments and the new proposed legislation regarding PIP were mentioned everywhere.
Add into this a deep distrust/dislike bordering on hatred of the Prime Minister, and voila! a kicking at the ballot box.
When interviewed the morning after Starmer said “I get it”.
No you don’t!
Are you stupid, ignorant, blinkered or badly advised…or possibly a combination thereof?
I have stated before that the Labour Party doesn’t exist anymore, and I stand by my comments.
There is still time to change course and get back to the values of the Labour Party, however whilst Starmer is in charge alongside Reeves, Streeting etc, I don’t believe they will.
If they carry on as they are, the Labour Party will get wiped out, Farage will be PM and that would be an absolute disaster.
Can this be turned around?
Absolutely…for example
Stop pandering to the bigots in society, reject Farage and his party’s message of hatred and division.
Stop trying to compete with Farage to see who can demonise asylum seekers most effectively.
Stop Yvette Cooper from the ridiculous idea of a league table of which nationality commits which crime. That is a direct route to discrimination, and an open goal for the Daily Mail to set aside the first ten pages of every edition to inform everyone that you can’t trust a foreigner.
Start looking after the most in need, not kicking them.
Invest in local services
Make people feel better about where the country is going. I say feel, because a huge number of voters put their cross on the ballot box based on feelings not facts.
Get the message out loud and clear about good policy coming out of the g?overnment.
Can/will Starmer change course?
Nope, can’t see it. He is, in my opinion a Conservative not a socialist, even though he has stated he is.
So, to finish. Starmer, Reeves, and Streeting need to go. Get someone to reset, correct course and give us a Labour Party to vote for again.
