Rumours are circulating at Middlesbrough Town Hall that two Independent councillors have joined Reform UK.
Councillor Michael Saunders has made an adjustment to his Councillor’s Register Of Interests, adding his Reform membership.
All the more surprising as he is Leader of the MICA group of councillors. MICA, which has nine councillor members, stands for Middlesbrough Independent Councillors Association.
Another councillor and MICA member, Stephen Hill, is also said to have joined Reform , but so far there has been no change to his Register of Interests.
Neither councillor has announced Reform membership. We have reached out to both councillors for confirmation or denial.
Middlesbrough already has two Reform councillors: Christine Cooper and Joanne Rush.

Councillor Stephen Hill has now added his membership of Reform UK to his Councillor’s Register of Interests at Middlesbrough Council.
