In the heart of Gaza, where the sky is heavy with dust and the ground is still, I live with my three children – Nabil, Muhammad, and Taim – in a small tent, perched on the ruins of what was once our home.
Our house was destroyed in the relentless bombardment, and now we wake every morning surrounded by the sharp, cold rubble of what used to be our lives. The heat inside this tent is suffocating – every day, the sun blazes down, and my children wake up drenched in sweat, their bodies weak from the oppressive heat. We have no cooling, no proper shelter, and no safe place to escape the heat.
We have no electricity, no shade, and barely any water. Each drop we collect is precious, each bite of food a struggle. Nabil dreams of becoming an engineer, despite all odds; Muhammad clings to his hope of a safe future; and Taim, just a little boy, smiles even as his body struggles in the heat.
Every day, we face a fight for survival – for medicine, for clean water, for food on their tiny plates. Every day in Gaza feels harder than the one before. But even in this darkness, I know that somewhere, someone will hear us, someone will remember that we are still here, fighting, hoping, and waiting for a chance to live.
