Children and staff from Kids Planet nursery Wallsend in North Tyneside paid a visit to their local doctors surgery with pictures and cards to mark the NHS’ 75th birthday.
All the nursery children took part in creating artwork and the team took a handful of children from each room to deliver them to staff at Village Green Surgery.
In nursery, the staff marked the occasion by adding Doctor roleplay into the ‘home corners’ and talking about what doctors, nurses, and reception staff do for us and the importance of those jobs.
Rachel Armstrong, Nursery Manager at Kids Planet Wallsend, said:
“It was great to be able to get out into our community and share our thanks to all of the staff who work so hard in the NHS. The lovely staff at the village green surgery were so grateful and said it had made their day. Our children were so proud to give their cards and drawings and were very eager to talk about what they have created. A lovely day had by all.”
Kids Planet is a family-owned, award-winning group of 163 nurseries across the UK. The company was set up in 2008 by mum Clare Roberts when she struggled to find childcare in her local area that had flexible hours.
