A family treat is guaranteed with a spectacular performance lined up for the 2026 Middlesbrough Theatre Panto, Aladdin. The ever-popular show – presented by Extravaganza Productions Ltd – will see panto legend Philip Green return as Wishee Washee for his eighth consecutive year.
Audiences will join Aladdin on a thrilling carpet ride and the adventure of a lifetime in this most magical of all pantomimes.
The young peasant boy tries to win the hand of the beautiful Princess – with a little help from the magical Genie of the Lamp, not to mention his mother Widow Twanky and the hapless Wishee Washee.
However the wicked Abanazar wants to steal Aladdin’s magic lamp to help him become the most powerful wizard in the world – can Aladdin foil his evil plan?
There will be dazzling costumes, spellbinding special effects and lots of audience participation to keep the whole family entertained and amused.
The talented cast includes Sol Nicholson as Aladdin, Paul Hawkyard as Abanazar and Robert Laughlin as Widow Twanky, with a further star set to be announced later in the year.
Councillor Philippa Storey, Middlesbrough Council’s Executive member for Education & Culture, said:
“No festive season would be complete without a raucous, side-splitting panto with guaranteed laughs for the all the family. So why not use one of your three wishes this Christmas to see Aladdin at Middlesbrough Theatre?
“Be quick though – tickets are already selling fast.”
Aladdin runs from Saturday, 5 December to Thursday, 31 December at Middlesbrough Theatre on The Avenue, Middlesbrough TS5 6SA
There will be a signed performance Thursday, December 17 at 7pm and a relaxed performance on Tuesday, December 22 at 2pm.
