Chris McDonald, MP for Stockton North, has stepped in to support the residents of Queensgate estate in their ongoing dispute with developer Bellway Homes over significant delays in completing the estate’s roads and the deteriorating standards of maintenance in the area.

During a recent visit to the Queensgate estate, Chris met with local residents to hear their concerns firsthand. While many residents expressed their love for the community they have built, there was widespread frustration and disappointment over the state of the roads, which have been left in disrepair since the completion of the build four years ago.

Chris McDonald commented:

“Queensgate is a wonderful place with a really nice community, but residents have been let down by the unfinished roads. These delays have not only caused inconvenience but have led to injuries, vehicle damage, and a general sense of frustration. People should be able to take pride in their community and enjoy their environment without these unnecessary worries.”

In response to these concerns, Chris has already taken action by contacting Bellway Homes directly. Following his intervention, Bellway has confirmed that the necessary roadworks are now scheduled to begin in early October.

Chris added:

“I understand that this is not the first time residents have been promised action, only to be let down, I will be closely monitoring this situation and will keep in regular contact with residents to ensure that the promised progress is delivered. My commitment is to stand with the community until this issue is resolved.”

Speaking of the residents, Chris said:

“All credit must go to the residents group here on Queensgate. They’ve shown commitment and a dogged determination to see this area getting the positive outcome it deserves.”

Residents of Queensgate estate are encouraged to share their experiences and stay in touch with Chris as the situation develops.
