 Listen to the earth
 awakening from winter’s sleep,
 taking breath, pushing forth
 green shoots, labouring
 through frozen ground.
 A miracle of fragile bells
 nodding on slender stems,
 yet, strong as oaks,
 withstanding bitter winds,
 icy rain and snow,
 they hold their own…
 Dove-white, signs of peace …
 and hope.
