Warm gentle breeze
blue sky, sunshine
promising a glorious day.
I look around my urban haven
savouring summer senses
celebrating colourful flowers
begonias, geraniums, honeysuckle
resplendent roses, red
varying shades of pink
petals fluttering in the breeze
rustling soft green fronds.
Bees settle, relishing pollen
on delicate yellow poppies
Sweet peas softly scented.
Harmonious birdsong
Warm sun caresses my skin.
Enjoy the peace
savour the moment
starting a summer day.
