Kitchen Zoo heads back into the deep, dark woods this autumn with The Three Bears, for under fives and their grown ups at Northern Stage. The show runs from 25 October – 13 November 2021.
The Three Bears was created by Kitchen Zoo in 2018 in association with Northern Stage. It is directed by Capapie’s Brad McCormick and performed by Bob Nicholson and Hannah Goudie Hunter.
Puppets are by Ailsa Dalling.
Joining Hannah this year is local actor Peter Swales in the role of Daddy Bear.
Kitchen Zoo have been family favourites in the North East since 2017, touring nationally with shows for 3-7s, The Owl and the Pussycat and The Tin Foil Astronaut. They have created sell-out Christmas shows for under 5s at Northern Stage including WOLF! in 2019.
Deep in the forest, Mammy, Daddy and Baby Bear are preparing for winter. Each day the three bears head off into the woods to collect interesting things they can re-use for their house.
As winter arrives, their cosy home is turned upside down by a colourful whirlwind that threatens to sit in their chairs, eat their porridge and fall asleep in their beds – it’s Goldilocks!
Northern Stage invites you to Join in for an adventure into the woods with original live music, puppetry and a tale you thought you knew…
Children are encouraged to bring their bears with them and to join in the adventure
Hannah Goudie Hunter, who will play Mammy Bear and is a co-founder of Kitchen Zoo said:
“I’m so excited to be back in Mammy Bear’s slippers and bringing the deep dark woods to life. I can’t wait to welcome lots of little and grown up bears into the woods this autumn.”
Bob Nicholson, co-founder of Kitchen Zoo said:
“We’ve had such a brilliant time making shows and building audiences at Northern Stage since 2018, so it’s great to be back and we’re looking forward to meeting everyone in the deep dark woods again.
