What a change! Christmas shows are coming after all!

The Christmas show at The Phoenix Theatre, Blyth

Yes, there’s been a real change since the Culture Recovery Fund began helping out theatres – and a most welcome one too! Pantos and Christmas shows are making a come-back. They’re going to be different: to ensure Covid-security most theatres have to reduce their capacity to around 25%; to reduce movement around the building there will be no interval (with most shows being no more than 60 minutes or less long) and bars will be closed; most venues will insist on advanced online booking (although some will allow booking by phone) and there will be no walk-ups, and there may be other restrictions according to each individual venue.

Here are those we know about and we will be adding to the list whenever new announcements are made, so do keep checking back for shows in your area.
