A planning application to extend and improve the visitor centre at Guisborough Forest and Walkway has been submitted by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council. The proposals aim to enhance the popular centre, boost the local economy, and improve access to green spaces.
The planned extension will upgrade the café, improve toilet facilities, and install air source heat pumps and PV panels to support sustainability. If approved, work will begin with initial government funding, with further improvements, including a revamped educational space, subject to future funding. The plans also align with proposals for an active travel route linking Nunthorpe and Guisborough.
